Artist's Comments

This was for a company called Wild Duck who wanted to show how companies can look calm on the surface whilst paddling wildly underneath to keep things going smoothly (usual metaphor is with a swan). It was shown in a continuous loop during presentations.

All my own duck! I modelled, rigged and animated the duck, water and rushes entirely in Cinema 4D. I hand-painted the duck texture in Photoshop.

Strangely, there's no 'animation' sub category in 3D & Fractal art here on dA. And why are us 3D people lumped with Fractal art? They have nothing to do with each other. No disrespect to Fractal artists, I'm sure they feel the same !

GREAT work!! Your above reason for the company creating such an 'appearance' could apply to MANY situations, also.

I am old enough in Midwest America to remember an alcoholic beverage wine called COLD DUCK. That and BOONESFARM CHEAP wines were American staples of the day. WINK.

My BEST to you and yours.

Thanks mate! Yes, it's a metaphor that applies to many things in life.

Ah well, I'm old enough to have forgotten most of the things I used to remember. :O_o:

Same likewise.

I agree... 3d should get a flash category. Although we do have several 3d spaces under animation/film. Also with you on the Fractal... although they aren't technically in the same category, (they are under digital art) people get confused and put fractal under 3d Abstract quite often.

Great job on the animation/flash. Tell me it's easy to rig in C4D... I'm procrastinating rigging my frog. I love the textures and the creativity behind this one.

I don't seem to have those choices. When I have to specify a category there's only 3D & Fractal Art with very few sub categories, same with Animation & Games and then there's Drawing and Illustration. Nothing else is relevant to me. Where can I find animation/film? :O_o:

Okay, it's easy to rig in C4D! Thansk Christina

Wait a minute... I didn't say lie to me. Easy to rig... I can read sarcasm.

Uh you have to submit animations for review... and apply for film privileges. [link] It's not just simply a matter of uploading.

And yeah I forgot submission choices are different than browsing... noticed it when I just uploaded my newest dev.

Truthfully, it's not so bad but the first time seems to take for ever. It's a good idea to keep the first one simple. For example, perhaps don't rig individual fingers and toes. You'll be fine I promise!

Thanks for the info about submitting animations, I shall do so pronto
